Nuts have been shown to add numerous benefits to your diet. Food to Live Blanched Hazelnuts, also known as Blanched Filberts, are tasty, versatile, and most importantly, healthy. To remove the bitter outside skin, they are scalded with boiling water for a short period of time and then dipped in cold water, ceasing the cooking process. After that, the hazelnuts are peeled off and gently dried at 45°C (113°F) for 3 hours. This low-temperature processing allows them to be labeled as “raw” food.
Like other kinds of nuts, Hazelnuts are famous for their nutrient profile and antioxidant content. If we compare Blanched Hazelnuts to ones with skin, they are both rich in protein, fiber, calories, and healthy fats. They share the same amount of important vitamins like Vitamin E and B6. Besides, they contain a lot of essential minerals including Thiamin, Magnesium, Copper, Manganese, Folate, Phosphorus, Potassium, and Zinc. On top of that, blanched filberts are a good source of omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, such as oleic acid. Due to this super-dense nutrient content, hazelnuts will help in supporting the heart, normalizing blood pressure, decreasing inflammation, and lowering blood sugar levels.
Our whole raw Blanched Hazelnuts have a creamy and mildly sweet flavor along with a crunchy texture. Enjoy these delicious nuts on their own as a filling snack or in homemade trail mixes. They can be added whole or chopped to your baked goodies, cookies, muffins, cakes, and cupcakes. Use peeled hazelnuts to top your yogurt, granola, oatmeal, or any other cold cereal or dessert. Furthermore, you can use them in savory dishes as an ingredient in creamy sauces, salads, and even stuffing.
Keep Blanched Hazelnuts in bulk in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 1,5 years. You may store them in a cool dark place away from a humidity if you want to go through them quickly.
