Organic Cacao Butter is a nutrient-dense, cold-pressed oil of the cacao bean. During cacao butter production, the temperature does not exceed 45°C. Natural Cacao butter has a light yellow, creamy color, the smell of milk with a note of chocolate. The typical texture of the product is hard and brittle. Cacao butter is the most valuable and significant component of cocoa beans. In fact, butter is a mixture of fatty acids, which consist of saturated (57-64%) and unsaturated fats (46-33%).
Cocoa is the term used for Cacao, which has been exposed to higher heat, therefore containing a different set of chemical properties. As the higher temperature is introduced to cold-pressed, raw, Cacao butter, it lowers its antioxidant capacity and decreases the nutrient density.
Organic Cacao butter is widely used in traditional medicine as an additional source of beneficial substances. However, it does not replace the medications prescribed by a doctor. Cocoa butter is known for its antiviral, expectorant, and antibacterial properties. Therefore, it's a yummy remedy for coughs and colds. Cocoa butter is suitable for lubricating the nasal mucosa, massaging the chest and back. Due to the content in the oil of biologically active components, it is used in cosmetology, for the manufacture of creams, shampoos, soaps, and other products– for the body, face, and hair care.
Organic Cacao butter is suitable to soften, mainly in the care of dry skin. The most popular way to use Cocoa Butter, however, is in the making of chocolate. Melt the product in a water bath and mix with cocoa powder and sugar in a ratio of one to one. Into the mixture, you can add any ingredients to taste, from honey and candied fruit to berries and other dried fruit. Mmmmm, delicious! As you already know, butter is invariably the basis of chocolate, but you can also add it to creams, fudge, and icing to impart the necessary thickness. Besides that, you can add Organic Cacao butter to drinks and desserts, milk porridges, and puddings. Recommended storage conditions: keep in a sealed container in a cool dark place.
