Organic Spelt Flour to Reimagine Your Baking

Baking is an art, and Organic Spelt Flour will help you excel in it. This flour is more delicious and nutritious than regular wheat flour. However, its texture is similar to wheat, so you can easily use it in any recipe, like cake or muffins. The spelt flour is made by the stone-grinding method. Organic stone-ground spelt flour retains maximum nutrients because its processing is minimal. Therefore, by adding it to baked goods, you not only enhance the taste but also infuse them with fiber and plant proteins. Whole spelt flour also contains essential minerals, including zinc and iron. Please be advised that spelt is a type of wheat, and therefore, this flour contains gluten. However, the level of gluten in spelt is low due to this; people on a low-gluten diet may enjoy the spelt bread and other baked goods. *The exception is completely gluten-intolerant consumers.

Taste and Uses

Stone-ground organic spelt flour is similar to wheat flour in texture and properties. However, they aren’t identical, so you can’t use it as a full substitute for all-purpose flour. Note that spelt flour is “lighter” than whole wheat flour; therefore, products baked with are lighter and fluffier. Use organic white spelt flour in a recipe by substituting fifty percent of regular wheat flour. Assess the texture of the dough and increase or decrease this amount in future baking projects. Remember that this flour absorbs less liquid. So you’ll need to either add more flour or reduce the amount of liquid in the recipe. Otherwise, the dough will be too sticky. You can buy organic spelt flour in bulk as it keeps well for six months in a pantry. If you store it in the fridge, it will last for a year.
